Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, the latest game from FromSoftware, has had a successful launch globally. With positive reviews from both critics and players, the game has gained popularity on Steam, achieving an average score of 87 on Metacritic and an 84% rating on Steam based on user reviews. Since its release on August 24, Armored Core VI has already reached a peak of 129,285 concurrent users on Steam, making it the third FromSoftware title to achieve such numbers. The game has also garnered attention on Twitch, with a peak of 164,000 viewers.

In terms of peak concurrent players, Armored Core VI is expected to surpass the numbers achieved by previous titles in the series. While it may not reach the heights of Elden Ring, which sold 20.5 million units globally as of March 2023, Bandai Namco, the publisher of Armored Core VI, is confident that the new game will exceed the performance of its predecessors. With the success of FromSoftware’s recent projects, such as Dark Souls III and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Armored Core VI has the potential to sell several million copies.

Armored Core is a series of third-person mecha action games that first debuted in 1997. The franchise currently consists of six main games and several spin-offs. Bandai Namco sees Armored Core VI as an opportunity to expand the audience of the franchise. CEO Arnaud Muller believes that the game will surpass the sales of previous Armored Core titles, aiming to broaden the appeal of the IP.

Overall, Armored Core VI has had a strong start in terms of player engagement and critical reception. With its positive reviews and high concurrent player numbers on Steam, the game has the potential to break sales records for the Armored Core franchise. Bandai Namco is optimistic about the game’s success and sees it as an opportunity to attract a wider audience to the series.
