iOS 17 introduces a new feature that allows users to turn their photo subjects into message stickers. This feature builds on the previous ability to isolate the subject of a photo from its background and copy it to the clipboard or share it in another app. With iOS 17, users can now export isolated photo subjects as stickers, with the added bonus that if the subject is in a Live Photo, the sticker will animate.

To create a photo-sourced sticker, users simply need to launch the Photos app, select an image with a well-defined subject, press and hold on the subject until it ripples and a white glow flows around its outline, and then tap “Add Sticker.” Users can also choose from several effects to customize their stickers, such as a white outline, comic-like shading, a puffy 3D look, or a shiny, holographic finish.

The stickers created can be used in the Messages app by tapping the + button next to the compose field, then tapping “Stickers.” From there, users can select the sticker they want to use and send it in the conversation. They can also long-press the sticker and drag it into the conversation or onto a specific message bubble.

This new feature in iOS 17 adds a fun and creative element to messaging. Users can now personalize their messages with unique stickers that reflect their personal style and interests. The ability to animate Live Photo subjects as stickers adds an extra level of engagement and entertainment. Overall, this feature enhances the messaging experience and allows users to express themselves in a more visual and interactive way.

As iOS 17 is set to be released soon, users can look forward to exploring this new feature and all the other exciting updates and changes that are coming to the Messages app. iOS 17 will offer several new features to make messaging more creative and fun, making it even easier for Apple users to communicate and connect with each other.
